Charlie Hunt began working in the family business in 1982 after graduating from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. “After graduating, I considered several career paths but I was curious about my family’s monument business,” says Hunt, who earned a degree in history. “My father made me go through an interview for a job. He asked me what my qualifications were, what I could do for the company. After a year in the shop, Dad asked me to do some sketches of monuments, and I quickly found my niche. What started as a temporary foray into the monument business became a permanent career, and my designs became an integral part of the company’s growth.”
